UPDATE: EU doesn’t change blacklist of Russians, to extend for 6 mos
(Adds details throughout)
BRUSSELS, Mar 3 (PRIME) -- The E.U. has introduced no amendments to the blacklist of Russian and Ukrainian officials and organizations and will prolong the sanctions against them for six months, a diplomatic source in Brussels told PRIME on Thursday.
“No changes to the sanctions list have been introduced, the restrictive measures will be prolonged for six months,” the source said.
The E.U. will make a final decision on the prolongation at a ministerial meeting on Friday.
Late Wednesday, an E.U. source said that some people “can be excluded (from the list) because they are no longer alive.”
The current set of sanctions against Russian individuals will remain in force until March 15, while economic sanctions will last at least until July 31.
